FIBS Bot: Snowie

Snowie was written by Olivier Egger (oegger@lcavsun1.epfl.ch, oegger on FIBS, URL: http://ltswww.epfl. ch/Staff/egger.html) of Switzerland. It plays, or played, up to seven-point matches and uses "simplified" 3-ply lookahead.

Its sister, SnowWhite, plays one-point matches.

Following its success on FIBS, Snowie has been developed as a standalone commercial program (for Windows only). On this site, the commercial release is known as "Standalone Snowie". See the official Snowie Web site for more details. This brings to three the number of top-level neural net players converted for standalone operation (the other two being Jellyfish and TD Gammon).
